The European Economic Community (EEC) Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS 2011/65/EU) directive is currently impacting the capacitor market. The directive dictates that all EEE sold in Europe and certain other countries will be free of designated hazardous material, with some exemptions. One exemption is for any product that is used in a military application.
Specific materials that are banned based on the RoHS directive include:
- Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE)
Voltronics has the capability to meet RoHS requirements, yet also meet the need for custom non-RoHS components for exempted military applications.
Since Voltronics serves both the military and commercial markets, we require customers to identify the need for RoHS or non-RoHS compliance in specifications and/or orders.
Voltronics meets RoHS required applications. Customers simply need to specify the requirement, and it will be fulfilled.
